Mrs. Ethel Benkert. 77 years of age, a resident of Monticello since her marriage, who passed away at 9:10 a.m. Monday in the St, Clare hospital, where she had been a medical patient since Oct. 24 after a long period of failing health.
Ethel Morrell was. born on Nov. 20, 1890, at Montfort, Wis., a daughter of Henry L. and
Anne Manum Morrell. She attended rural school. On Sept. 29, 1910, she was united in
marriage to William H. Benkert, the ceremony taking place in Mt. Horeb. She had lived in Monticello continuously since her marriage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, May 15, 1955, two sons, Richard, in 1927, and Edward J., Hanover Park, Ill., Feb. 17, 1967, one brother and one sister.
