He came to Missouri as a farmer Taney County, and in the 1860 census. Stone County, he was a merchant, with his wife Martha Priestley Davis (daughter of Samuel Priestley and Isabelle Hazelett of VA) in Galena, MO.
On June 10, 1861, Clemiel (Clemuel) Davis enlisted in the Stone County Home Guard, Company "E"
Galena Missouri, Taken prisoner and killed by bushwhackers as rebels about Sept. 10, 1861.
