Al. Card Catalog to Manuscript Collections:

John Davis and his wife, Mary Polly Eastin
are buried in a little cemetery in Russellville,
some distance across Cedar Creek from Ben Harris
Cemetery. Davis Cemetery is on the road that
goes from Village Farm to Orman Bridge. Here
are buried John and Mary Davis and possibly
some of their children who died young. On the
John Davis monument: "Sacred to the memory of
Rev. John Davis who departed this life Oct 19
1831, aged 69 years." For the last forty years
of his life was a member of the Baptist Church.
Mary's monument: "Sacred to the memory of Polly
Davis, consort of John Davis. She departed this
life Oct 25 (?) 1822, aged 55." For the last
35 years of her life she was a member of the Baptist Church.

John was the son of Jonathan and Lucy Gibbs Davis.
