BOETTCHER--Ray H. Boettcher funeral Saturday
Ray H. (Pose) Boettcher, 65, of 2815 Ninth street, died Wednesday in St. Mary hospital. A retired businessman, Mr. Boettcher had been ill the last five months.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bonaventure Catholic church with the Rev. Regis Watts officiating, and burial will be in St. Bonaventure cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday at McKown Funeral chapel where the body will lie in state after 1 p.m. that day.
A lifetime Columbus resident, Mr. Boettcher was born here April 28, 1904 to August and Jenny Adamson Boettcher and attended Columbus schools.
He was a mail clerk in the Army during World War II, serving from July 17, 1942 to March 12, 1943. He was discharged as T-5 at Camp Blanding, Fla.
Mr. Boettcher was a member of the American Legion and St. Bonaventure church.
He is survived by his wife, nee Florence Szudlo, whom he married Jan. 21, 1946; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Matlick of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. Dorothy Meays of Monrovia, Calif.; nieces and nephews. Seven brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Memorials may be given to St. Bonaventure cemetery shrine fund.
