Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Santee Baptist Cemetery, on Highway 6 two miles north of Elloree, with the Rev. Roger Goupil and the Rev. Bryan Fields officiating.
Mr. Brandenburg was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late David McIver Brandenburg Sr. and Angie Holman Brandenburg. He was a graduate of Cameron High School and served in the U.S. Army/Air Force in World War II, stationed in occupied Germany.
"A jack of many trades and a master of all," he was frequently sought out by many for advice and assistance.
Keitt was a member of Elloree First Baptist Church. He owned and operated Brandenburg Radio Service for more than 60 years, having retired Jan. 1, 2010.
Keitt is survived by his wife, Shirley Bookhart Brandenburg, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage in June; a daughter, Kay Brandenburg Wolfe (Robert) of Atlanta; sons, Donald Brandenburg of Charleston and Carl Brandenburg (Alice) of Seneca; three grandchildren, all of Seneca, Martin, Carl II and Keller; a special brother-in-law, James Avery Bookhart; and a sister, Delle Brandenburg Bookhardt. He was predeased by a brother, David Brandenburg Jr., and a sister, Mary Edith Brandenburg.
Fogle-Hungerpiller Funeral Home in Elloree is in charge of arrangements.
