Oral S. "Bud" Keller, 76, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. He was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Mink Creek, Idaho, to Urias and Annie Andersen Keller. He was welcomed by 13 siblings.

Bud grew up in Mink Creek and enjoyed playing softball and was a fast pitcher. He graduated from Preston High School in 1954. After graduation, he volunteered for the draft and served his country in the Army from 1955-'56, most of the time in Germany.

He married his sweetheart, Shirley Forman, on June 21, 1957, in the Logan LDS Temple. They have been married for 55 years. After their marriage, he worked construction in the summers and for Knudsen's meat packing in the winters. To make extra money, he would cut bean poles, sheer sheep and trap. In 1966, he became employed by Utah Power & Light. He worked there until retirement. He also had a small family farm and dairy where he taught his children to work. Many family home evenings were spent hauling rocks with a hot dog roast following.

He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, trapping and many other outdoor hobbies. He enjoyed all children and especially loved his grandchildren - and would often times have one tagging along with him.

Bud was always willing to help people out when he saw a need. He loved people and welcomed many into his family and home. He touched the hearts of everyone he met. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of Cleveland, Idaho; four children, Kim (Wallace) Christensen of Mink Creek, Idaho, Terri (Jerry) Petterborg of Preston, Quinn (Camille) Keller of Santaquin, Utah, and Jeff Keller (Jennifer Brooks) of West Jordan, Utah; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother Ronnie (Sharon) Keller of Riverdale, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his son Ryan Keller; parents, granddaughter Shakeara Petterborg Waldron and 13 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in the Williams-Thatcher Ward LDS church in Niter, Idaho. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 S. 800 East in Preston, Idaho, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worm Creek Opera House or the Oneida Stake Academy.
