He served during World War II in the Pacific theatre achieving the rank of sergeant
He started his own dairy farm while also working as the caretaker at the Bryant Homestead. From 1948 to 1969 he worked as a manager and local representative for Agway
He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren
