Jonathan Lloyd Barnett was the oldest son of Jonathan Paddox Barnett and Elizabeth Thomson Barnett. He grew up in Childress, Texas, where he met and married Laura Allen. They lived in Lubbock, Texas, for thirty-two years. He was a member of the Men's Downtown Bible Class of the First Baptist Church. A successful salesman, he served as president of the Food Buyers and Drummers Club. He was survived by his wife, Laura; one son; brother, James J. Barnett of Fort Worth; and one sister, Mrs Ralph Sundby (Margaret Anne) of Abilene, TX.
