Emory H. Haines, 84, of 509 Highfield Avenue, Canonsburg, died Friday, January 14, 1983, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born August 26, 1898, in Clymer, N. Y., a son of Hamilton and Ella Perring Haines. He was a Protestant.
On October 26, 1920, he married Elsie Josephine Powers, who died December 11, 1972.
In 1936 he moved to Canonsburg. He was a civil servant electrician for the U. S. Navy.
Surviving are three sons, John C. Haines, Jack W. Haines, and Royal C. Haines, all of Canonsburg; one daughter, Mrs. Edgar J. (Mae) Anderson of Washington; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Richard, Welton, and Lauren, and two sisters, Gladys and Grace, are deceased.

HAINES - Friends of Emory H. Haines of 509 Highfield Avenue, Canonsburg, who died Friday, January 14, 1983, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Jospeh P. Salandra Funeral Home, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, where services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, January 17, with the Rev. G. Sherman Ott, pastor of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Panama, N. Y. Family suggests donations to the Washington-Greene County Blind Association.
