Ruth Allgeier was born Nov 22, 1914 in Copper Cliff Canada. She was the daughter of Frederick M Carrol Allgeier and his wife, Martha Saich Caldwell Allgeier.
Family history and available records indicate that she immigrated to the US on September 21, 1933, along with her mother & her younger sister Eleanor. The family relocated with her father, who was employed at the time by the International Nickel Company, on Wall Street in New York City.
On March 19, 1938, Ruth married her first husband, Siegfried Gerold Bart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blasius Siegfreid Bart of East Orange, NJ in St. Cloud Presbyterian Church.
They had two sons and later divorced.
Sources indicate that Ruth married as her second husband Augustus Sherrill (Mike) Houghton, on July 3, 1953, and moved to Garfield Colorado, where Mike worked as an "oil shale geologist", at the Roan Plateau Oil Shale Deposit. Soon after, Mike became a Professor of Geology & Petro Chemistry at Colorado School of Mines, and they moved to Golden Colorado.
Mike died January 15, 1984, and Ruth remained at Golden, where she died on August 14, 2010.
