Margaretha, daughter of George Phillip and Elizabeth Hust, was born August 2, 1852 at Rohrbach, South Russia. She was confirmed August 13, 1866.

On Dec. 27, 1870, she was married to Peter Rauscher; eleven children were born to this home--Christina, Katherine, Peter, Elizabeth, Anna, John, Sophie, William, Martha, Jacob and Johanna.

In 1876, the family came to America and July 4th to Sutton, where they resided on farms east of town and later northwest of Sutton, here Mr. Rauscher died Feb. 3, 1908. Four children preceded their father in death--Peter, 32, May 27, 1907; Johanna, 18, on May 26, 1908; Mrs. Phillip Zimbelman at Gregory, S.D., in 1910; and Mrs. L. L. Nusss, Dec 4, 1923.

Nov. 27, 1911, Mrs. Rauscher was united in marriage to Peter Ackerman, Sr., who died Feb. 19, 1936. After her husband's death, she made her home with the children.

Mrs. Ackerman died Dec. 15th, 1936, after a ten-day illness, at the Sutton hospital, aged 84 years, 4 months, 13 days.

Survivors are Mrs. John Zimbelman, Sutton; Katharine Rauscher, California; Mrs. Conrad Bachman, John P and Wm P., Sutton; Mrs. Henry H. Schmidt, Shalffter, Calif., Jacob P. Sutton; also thirty-five grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; one brother, Jacob Hust, and two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Rauscher and Mrs. Peter Huber, all of Sutton.

Funeral services ere held Friday afternoon at the J. P. Rauscher home and Second Reformed church (sic), in charge of the pastor, Rev. H. K. Hartman, who spoke from Thes. 4:13-18. Burial was in the Sutton cemetery (sic). Pall bearers were six grandsons.
