Mrs. Lela Lewis (Sedalia)
Mrs. Lela Lewis, 88, widow of Andrew E. Lewis. died at her home, 417 West Fourth, at 5:12 p.m. Friday, after a long illness. Mrs. Lewis was born near Knob Noster, July 16, 1877, daughter of the late Milton and Monema Lowrey. She was married in Sedalia, Nov. 28, 1900, to Andrew E. Lewis. They were the parents of one son. Mr. Lewis, who was a well-known barber in Sedalia, died April 2, 1959. Mrs. Lewis was one of a family of three daughters. One sister, Mrs. Gilla Agee, widow of the late Walter D. Agee, died Feb. 17, 1960. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, W. L. Lewis, 3223 East 12th; and her sister, Mrs. Belle Martin, 417 West Fourth, with whom she has made her home in recent years. Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Walter Fuqua will officiate. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery. The body is at the Ewing Funeral Home.
