Wood River Pioneer Passes
Schuyler P. Southard, who was admitted to the O.T. Jones infirmary a mont ago, died December 9th, after a brief illness. He was a native of Oklahoma. He was born March 29, 1867, and was 78 years, 8 months abd 10 days old at death.
Funeral sevices were conducted Tuesday afternoon, with Marvel Funeral Home in charge.Burial was at Hillcrest. Several of Mr. Southard's friends and neighbors came from Bellevue for the service. Fred Boyer, a member of the local Bishopric officiated at the graveside.
Southard was a stone mason and cobbler by trade and was in Bellevue for many years. He retired in 1925. He had maintained his home in Bellevue for over 30 years. He was a widower, and had no known relatives exept Ray P. Smith of Bellevue, a nephew who arranged for the sevices.
Note; There where two mistakes in the obituary. Schuyler was not a widower. In 1907 he divorced his wife, Katie Brandenburg. Ray P. Smith lived in Hailey.
