Lloyd Herman Dickerson, 77, of Dallas, formerly of Martinsville, VA, died Jan. 3, 2013. He was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, VA, to Willie Lloyd Dickerson and Kelsie Carter Dickerson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl D. Dickerson, James Dickerson and A.D. Dickerson, and a sister, Ida B. Finney. He was a retired truck driver for Tultex and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and musician. Surviving are his wife, Macie Rumley Dickerson; two daughters, Cheryl M. Dickerson and Teresa L. Carter; five sons, Lloyd B. Dickerson, Stafford L. Dickerson, Felix W. Dickerson, Wesley L. Dickerson, and Anthony C. Dickerson; six sisters, Loney Martin, Inez Draper, Loretta Callands, Marvia Mebane, Helen Coles, and Shirley Woods; a brother, Franklin Dickerson; 41 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
