Funeral services for Mrs. John W. (Ora) Smithers, 65, of 6323 Stonewall, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Park Street Baptist Church with Rev. D.E. Kuykendall and Rev. Ben Smith officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.

Mrs. Smithers died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at her home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1908, in Greenville the daughter of Andrew and Mary Frances Montgomery Mitchell. She married John W. Smithers Sept. 15, 1928, in Greenville. She was a beautician and a member of the Park Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Johnny E. Smithers of Greenville; one daughter, Mrs. Roscoe Newell of Plano; one brother, Guy Mitchell of La; three sisters, Mrs. George Bays of Greenville, Mrs. Norma Cook and Mrs. Homer Poe of Dallas and four grandchildren.
