There are three or four John Abbot's that served in the revolution. I am not sure which one this is, not much to go on.∼John Abbott was 6'7" tall and weighed 230lbs, and was said to be the largest young man ever raised in Concord, NH in his time. He was a farmer. He enlisted at the beginning of the Revolution, and served as a Private under General John Stark both at Bunker Hill and the Battle of Bennington. He was struck on the breast bone by a bullet during the latter engagement. He died of a fever Aug. 31, 1779 at the age of 23.
