Orris Dimmitt, 86, of Rt. 2, Monticello, died at 10:55 a.m.
Saturday, November 27, 1976, at White County Memorial Hospital, there.
He had been in ill health five years and seriously ill two weeks.
Born Aug. 3, 1891, in Carroll County, he was the son of
Ellsworth and Olive Schopf Dimmitt. He was married Jan 31,
1912, to Elma Roach, who died Feb. 4, 1975.
He had lived and farmed on the same Rt. 2, farm since 1918. He was a member of the Hickory Grove United Church of Christ.
Surviving are a son, Frances Dimmitt of Rt. 4, Monticello; two grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren, and one greatgreat-grandchild. Two infant children and a brother preceded him in death.
Services were Tuesday at the Hickory Grove United Church of
Christ with the Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial was
in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
