DIES AT GARRETT HOSPITAL AFTER TWO OPERATIONS
Mrs. Lovina Wiant of near Swan, died at the age of 75 years at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Garrett Monday night at 10 o'clock after she had submitted to two serious operations within two weeks.
The first operation for rupture was on Thursday, May 10, and one week later surgeons amputated her left leg, As a result of her weakened condition she succumbed.
Mrs. Wiant, a widow for 10 years, was born in Champaign county, Ohio, and came to DeKalb county when a child. Her parents settled four miles south of Garrett and here she was married. Three children were born of the union, Oscar, Grace and Clarence.
Mr. and Mrs. Wiant removed from DeKalb county to near Swan in Noble county where the two sons and the daughter now reside.
Surviving beside the children are four brothers, Adam Heitz of Auburn and Joseph, Ambrose and David Heitz, living in Butler township.
Mrs. Wiant was an attendant of the Lutheran church.
Funeral services were h e 1 d Wednesday afternoon at the residence near Swan at 1 o'clock and a later service at 2 o'clock at Cedar Chapel by the Rev. Byron Smith of Avilla. Burial was made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
