Son of Alpheus and Mercy (Miller) Remick.

On 10 Sep 1853 Alpheus married Ellen Buckley at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, in a first marriage for both.

On 10 Feb 1862 Alpheus, a ship builder, mustered into service with the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, being credited to the quota of Grafton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.

Alpheus, Levi, and Augustus Moses Remick, along with Joseph Bardsley, three brothers and their step-father, served together in the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Company I.

His brother, Benjamin F. Remick, served in Co. H, 8th Maine Infantry.

On 31 May 1862 he was wounded at The Battle of Fair Oaks, Henrico County, Virginia.

Alpheus died on 27 Feb 1864 at Stevensburg, Culpeper County, Virginia, of lung fever.

In 1863 Mercy Bardsley, his mother, applying for a widow's pension and stated "that she now has 13 children living, seven of them are now in the army in various regiments."

In Jul 1864 Ellen Remick, his wife, received a pension to surviving family member based on Alpheus's service.
After her death in 1865, his brother, Levi, was made guardian of his minor sons.
