He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Luther and Audrey Clanton Heafner, retired from Belmont Hosiery and Wix, courier for Sale Auto Mall and Sonny Hancock Oldsmobile, Navy veteran, member of Flint Groves Baptist Church.
