PARTRIDGE - Max "Lynn" Stiggins, 76, died March 5, 2003, at Hutchinson Hospital, Hutchinson.
He was born July 2, 1926, at Partridge, the son of William McKinley Stiggins and Sadie Pearl Shafer. He was a 1944 graduate of Partridge Rural High School. He was a life­time resident of Partridge and a farmer, retiring In 1995. He was also a machinist for Cessna for 18 years at Hutchinson.
He belonged to the DAV, Great Plains Two - Cylinder Club, and was a charter member of Reno County Historical Society.
He served In the U.S Army In Germany during World War II where he was wounded In action receiving the Purple Heart.
He restored antique and classic tractors, and was a historian of farm machinery; implements and tools
On June 3, 1945, he married Naomi O'Hara at Partridge. She died Nov. 16, 1999.
Survivors Include: three daughters, Janice and husband Dean Richardson, Hutchinson, Ginger Stiggins, and Vicki and husband Brad Galloway; all of Partridge; a sister, Virginia Packetbush, Partridge; a companion, Faye Finfrock, Pretty Prairie; five grandchildren, Terry Landon, Hutchinson, Tyler Galloway, Partridge, Wesley Galloway; Partridge, Sam Eberly, Partridge, and Kyndle Eberly; Partridge; and three great-grand­children, Jessica Burke, Hutchinson, Turner Landon, Hutchinson, and Hunter Galloway; Partridge.
He was preceded In death by a brother, Veri Stiggins; both parents; and his wife of 54 years.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pamela J. Tinnin presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 am. to 9 p.m. today and Friday at the chapel. Burial will be In Partridge Cemetery; Partridge. Memorials may be sent to Partridge Community Church.
