Ethelene Strickland Wolfe
November 15, 1937 - July 10, 2011
Ethelene Strickland Wolfe, 73, of Rivesville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family Sunday (July 10, 2011). Ethelene was born in Darlington, S.C., on Nov. 15, 1937 to the late Lawrence W. and Lula Caulk Strickland. Ethelene was a Baptist by faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. In her spare time, Ethelene enjoyed crocheting, traveling, gardening, cooking, country music and especially church hymns. Ethelene was retired from Loveridge Coal Mine, where she was a coal miner for 17 years. Ethelene is survived by three daughters, Glenda Elaine Morgan McCardle and her husband James of Rivesville, Sophia Morgan Newbraugh and her husband John of Everettsville, and Sarah Estle of Rivesville; three sons, George Morgan of Rivesville, David Morgan and his wife Beth of Crown, and Dale Allen Estle and his wife Virginia of Rivesville; her loving fiancé, Allan Wirche of Sandusky, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Strickland of Hartsville, S.C.; one sister, Mauise Strickland Dixon of Patrick, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ethelene was preceded in death by her husbands, George Morgan, Dale Estle and John Wolfe. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to John Rogers and all the cancer center staff for the great care they provided for Ethelene. Also a special thanks to Ruby Memorial CCU, especially Jennifer, Dr. Parker and staff in CCU at Ruby for making Ethelene's last wishes come true, and the great care from ICU and stepdown. Friends will be received at McCulla Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and on Wednesday from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor David Huckins officiating.
