“Lois” died at Providence Newberg Hospital. Daughter of John and Edna (Carey) Tish. She graduated from Greenleaf Friends Academy, attended the Portland Bible Institute, and graduated from Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho. She received library training from the University of Washington. Her first teaching job was in a one-room school in Leadore, ID. She later taught at Homedale, ID. Most of her career was spent as a librarian at two colleges: Cascade College in Portland and Linfield College in McMinnville. She was a member of several different churches in the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends and was played a part in starting the McMinnville Friends Church. In her later years she resided at Friendsview Manor in Newberg. She was an avid gardener and shared her harvest of vegetables and flowers with others. She traveled to the Holy Land and Europe, among other sites and countries. She enjoyed sewing, weaving and other types of handwork. Survivors include: brother Alva Tish of Greenleaf, ID. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Esther Delamarter.
