SOLDIER of the Revolution
aged 89 years, 2 months and 29 days. Grave in Allen Cemetery, town of
Poland. In 1775 served nine months in Connecticut Militia under Capt. Avery
and Col. Coit. Was at the battle of White Plains and was at attack on Groton
Front and burning of New London. In 1787 was married to Experience JERALD
They had a family of eight children. She died March 18, 1822, aged 57 years,
and her grave is beside her husband in Allen Cemetery. He is mentioned in
the Pension List of 1840 as aged 84 and living with Peer (Probably
Pierce)Woodward in the town of Poland. Their children were: *Reuben,
Sabrina, Sukey, *Royal, Lewis, Polly, *Pierce, *Hiram.
