Mrs cox was the daughter of James G. and Grace Tinsley. She was involved with P.E.O., Psi Iota Xi, Dorothy Q chapter of DAR, various Bible studies. She was married first to Harold "Bud" Duke (d 1963); married second to Hamlin P. Cox (d 2006). She also lost two sons and a brother Robert. She was survived by three daughters, seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary Ellen Cooper, and sister-in-law, Vera Tinsley.
