Waynesville - Margaret Hope Kingsland Garrett, 68, of 67 Laurel Circle, went home to be with her Savior, Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Garrett was the daughter of the late Gordon Luther Kinsland Sr. and Myrtle Kinsland McCracken. She was the wife of the late Frederick Hampton Garrett, who died in December 1991. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gordon Kinsland Jr., and sister, Barbara Narron.

Mrs. Garrett was employed by CP&L before retiring from Smoky Mountain Mental Health in 1991 with 22 years of service. She was a member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Garrett graduated from St. John's High School in 1955 and lived in Germany for one year. She was a fantastic cook and always had cakes, cookies and candies for everyone to enjoy and devoted her life to others. For eight years, she was a volunteer at the Brian Center, where she became a special part of the nursing home family. She had a special love for her grandchildren and was a role model for her family.
