Mary Elizabeth was the youngest child of Samuel Henry, Jr. and Leona Elmira Scroggins Conley. She grew up in Arkansas with several siblings and they are:
Martha Emmaline Conley 1877 – 1900
Lavinnia Jane Conley 1878 – 1965
John Wesley Conley 1879 – 1960
Robert Lee Conley 1881 –
Unknown Conley 1883 – 1900
Thomas Jefferson "T.J." Conley 1886 – 1948
Andrew A. "Gus" Conley 1887 – 1965
Samuel Henry Conley III 1889 –
Grover Cornelius Conley 1892 – 1952
She married John McClelland Wolfe, Sr., around 1914. I believe that to have been in Arkansas or possibly McCurtain Co., OK but have not found the record. However, they lived in Flower, McCurtain Co., OK, during the first years of their marriage. They then began to move a lot as John followed the work from the Oilfields of Kern Co., CA to the logging camps of Rio Arriba, NM, to Najavo, AZ. Mary was the Camp Cook in some of these loactions. They later settled in Placerville, CA where they are laid to rest.
They raised 4 children. They are:
Edna Leona Wolfe Cheever 1915 – 2007
Maryneal Wolfe Neeley 1921 – 1999
John McClelland, Jr. Wolfe 1927 – 2008
female Wolfe Rogers 1929 – living
Mary Elizabeth is my 1st cousin 2X rem. While I never met her, I am in touch with one of her children. It is my honor to remember her here.
