Roland was the son of Isaiah/Isiah/Joshua/Josiah/Jesse/Chester & Sarah A. (Frederich) DeLong.

Roland married Caroline Elizabeth Seip and they had the following children:

1. Mary Alice "Alice" DeLong b. 1872.
2. Charles Tilghman DeLong b. 1874.
3. Elizabeth DeLong Krum b. 1876.
4. James DeLong b. 1879.
5. Milton DeLong b. 1885.

1944 - Roland DeLong, son of the late Chester(sic Josiah) and Sarah DeLong, died Sunday in the Homeopathic hospital, Rittersville. He was born in Longswamp township, January 9, 1851, and lived in Allentown most of his life. Formerly employed by the Lehigh Traction Co., he had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Krum at 714 Turner St. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Krum are three sons, Charles T., of Oakland, Calif.; James, of California; and Milton, of New Jersey. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon from the Luther D. Grim Funeral Home, 136-138 N. 12th St. Interment will be made in the Greenwood cemetery.
