"Funeral services were held Thursday at Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, for Clifton M. Marsh, 92, formerly of Church Street, Westernport, Md., who died Sunday 25 September 2005 in Lewes, Delaware. The Reverend Thomas Morgan officiated and burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Westernport.
Born 24 May 1913 in Gordensville, Va., he was the son of the late Lonnie Marsh Sr., and Hester (Manning) Marsh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes (Walsh) Marsh who died 20 January 1992; seven brothers and one sister. He was the last of his immediate family.
Mr. Marsh was Protestant by faith. He served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946. He was the oldest member of Victory Post 155, American Legion, Westernport. He played for the Westvaco Soccer Team in 1932. He retired from Westvaco Corporation in 1976 and was a foreman on number eight and nine paper machines at the time of his retirement.
He is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Lannon and husband Peter, Vienna, Va., and Bridget A. Brooks and husband Michael, Lewes, Delaware; and one son, Michael S. Marsh and wife Susan, Virginia Beach, Va., and three grandchildren, Neal and Nicholas Marsh and Christopher Pedigo.
Memorials may be directed to the Lewes Convalescent Center, Resident Fund, 441 Market Street, Lewes DE 19958."
