Anita Davis

A founding member of the Town Club, Anita Davis, died Wednesday in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Portland, she lived at 1000 SW Vista Ave.

Mrs. Davis, who was born Feb. 3, 1889, in Portland, was the great great-granddaughter of the late Captain John H. Couch, owner and developer of much of the land in Northwest Portland known as the "Couch grant."

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the chapel of J. P. Finley & Son with private interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Survivors include son Charles H. III, sister Mrs. L. Hawley Hoffman, both of Portland, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to The Oregon Historical Society or the Oregon Symphony Association.
