Mable E. Adams, 88, died Friday morning, Nov. 13, 1992, in her Lafayette home. She was born July 19, 1904, in Lafayette, and was a lifelong resident. Her marriage in 1946, was to James L. Adams, who died in 1963. He had worked for Indiana Gas Co.

Mrs. Adams had worked 22 years as manager of the lunchcounter at the former Goodnight's Drug Store (corner of 9th and Union streets), Lafayette, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Elston Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Kelley of Rock Hill, SC; and two brothers, Floyd Bishop of Texas and Jack Bishop of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty J. Worman; two brothers, William and Wilbur Bishop; two grandsons, Richard Muston and Steven Muston; and a great-grandson, Joshua Bryant.

Her name seems to have been mis-spelled on the gravestone. Both her and her husband's obits have it spelled M-A-B-E-L.
