James Louis Adams, 59, died unexpectedly at 1:30 PM Monday, Feb. 18, 1963, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient for one day. Born in Lafayette, he was a lifelong resident of the community. He was married to Mabel E. Bishop in 1946.

Mr. Adams was employed at Indiana Gas and Water Company as senior plant operator. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1393.

Surviving with his widow are a daughter, Mrs. Robert Wortman of Lafayette; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Walters, Mrs. Helen Thompson, both of Lafayette, Mrs. Margaret Wilson of Toledo, OH, and Miss Irene Adams of Chesterton; and two brothers, Richard Adams of Toledo and Ernest Adams of Lafayette.
