BAYARD WOMAN WHO RESIDED HERE FOR 20 YEARS IS TAKEN.

Mrs. Katie Wickman, 42, of Bayard, a former resident of Alliance, died Wednesday at the. Home of her brother-in-law, John Wickman, 412 Sweetwater, after a lingering illness of about nine years. Mrs. Wickman was brought to Alliance seriously ill Tuesday night. She and her husband, Con Wickman, had lived here from 1911 until 1931, when Mr. Wickman, a Burlington employee, was transferred to Bayard. He died there almost a year ago Mrs. Wickman was born in Russia in 1893 and came to the United States at the age of 13. Surviving here are three sons, Reuben, Harold and Victor; two daughters, Gladys and Ruth, all of Bayard; and two brothers, Con Miller, Sterling, Colo., and Jake Miller, Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services were held at 2 pm. Friday at the home and 2:30 at the German Congregational church with Rev. E.W. Elliott of the Alliance Nazarene church and Rev. Olleck, Bayard, officiating. Internment will be made in the Greenwood cemetery according to the Wells Funeral Home, which made arrangements.
