CONRAD WICKMAN IS CALLED TO REWARD

Former Alliance Railroad Worker, formerly employed by the Burlington as a blacksmith and car carpenter and later a farmer in the Bayard vicinity, were to be buried this afternoon at the Alliance cemetery, following funeral services being held this afternoon at the German Congregational church at Bayard. Wells Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements here. Mr. Wickman passed away at his home, seven miles east of Bayard Saturday, at the age of 53 years. He was born in Russia on November 3, 1881 and came to America with his parents in 1909. For a short time he made his home at McCook, Neb., later moving to Edgemont, S.D., where he became a Burlington employee. He was transferred to Alliance in 1919, and made his home here until 1931, when he moved to the farm. He was married to Katie Miller of Sterling, Colo., in 1911. To them, seven children were born, six of whom survive with the widow. They are: Ruben, Harold and Victor, Gladys and Ruth, all of Bayard. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Anna Wickman, of Fort Morgan, Colo., brothers, Jake of Fort Morgan, Henry of Crook, Colo., Adam of Hot Springs, S.D., and John of Alliance, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Parsons of McCook, Neb. Two children, Esther and Albert preceded their father in death.
