Olivene B. Walkington, 97, of Woodstock, died Sunday, June 27, 1993, at Woodstock Residence Nursing Home, Woodstock, IL.
She was born Aug. 18, 1895, in Crystal Lake, the daughter of the late George and Euretta (Van Hoozen) Bumsted.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Greenwood, and a member of its Women's Society.
She is survived by her husband, Howard J. Walkington, whom she married Dec. 15, 1915 in Chicago; four sons, Howard (Anne) Walkington, Robert Walkington, Glenn (Sara) Walkington, all of Green Valley, AZ, Caryl (Bob) Clark of Elgin, Lois (Thomas) Hansen of Peoria, Barbara (William) Markey of Ottawa, and Peggy (Dick) Plimmer of Lady Lake, FL; 45 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vera Vogel of Richmond.
She was preceded in death by two half-brothers, one brother and one grandson.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Furnel Home, Woodstock. Private funeral services will take place Wednesday with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church of Greenwood.
