Roger (J.R.) was born June 12, 1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to George Brockman and Evelyn (Neilsen) Brockman. Roger (J.R.) graduated from Treynor High School in 1958 and worked as a over the road truck driver until retiring in June of 2005.
Roger (J.R.) was preceded in death by father, George Brockman; nephews, Terry Brockman and Robert S. Hatcher; and sister-in-law, Louise Brockman.
He was loved by daughter, Jody and husband Kelly Sharp and daughter, Brenda Brockman; sons, Todd Brockman, Steve Brockman, Shawn Brockman and wife Jennifer; mother, Evelyn (Neilsen) Brockman; brothers, Gordon Brockman, Ronnie Brockman and wife LaVonne, Rich Brockman, Gerald Brockman and wife Roberta, Gail Brockman and wife Carolyn; sisters, Mary Wayman and husband Don, Marjorie Hatcher and husband Bill; 6 grandsons; 1 granddaughter and the love of his life for 28 years Viola Betts; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10th at Zion Congregational Church, Treynor, Iowa, Rev. Alan Hardy Officiating. Luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials to the family.
