Obituary: Ticonderoga Sentinel, Jul-Sep 1904

Mrs William Hunsdon had been in poor health for some years and at times was not in her right mind. She suffered at least two paralytic shocks. She was born in Schroon, where her life was passed until her marriage. She passed a few years in Vermont, but her home for more than 40 years was in Ticonderoga (NY). Her life was devoted to her family and few know the kindly deeds performed by her. When her son John lost his wife she patiently and cheerfully took upon herself the task of caring for his two little girls, and so faithfully did she perform her duty, that they never realized the loss they had sustained.

The last 14 weeks of her life she has lived with Mrs John Thomas (one of the granddaughters she cared for), where she was assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Clinton Chilson, and her other granddaughter Mrs. George H.Phillips. She suffered the last paralytic shock about 5 days before her death and from this she never rallied. She leaves four sons and one daughter to mourn her loss: Robert Hunsdon of Ticonderoga, John Hunsdon of Hopkiston, MA, Frank and Chauncey and Mrs. Clinton Chilson also of this place.
