Louisa Catherine Melinda Ann Hazeltine Dickens Jarrell Burgess was born in Dry Creek, Raleigh County WV. She married James Anderson Jarrell Jr. and they lived in Horse Creek, Raleigh County WV. At the time of James's death, Louisa was pregnant with their eight child (Lillie Perry). She later married George Burgess.

Mrs. Louise Burgess -- Mrs. Louise Burgess, 85 years old, of Dry Branch, wife of George Burgess, died Monday night at her home after a long illness.

She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Elmer Perry of Dry Branch, Mrs. M.F. Eskew and Mrs. R.P. Bradford, of Dry Creek, Mrs. George Slack, of Dakota; Mrs. H.B. Hanson, of Eleanor, and Mrs. L.F. Webb of Chesapeake; five sons, Joe Jarrell, of Chesapeake, Al Jarrell, of Pine Knob, Tom Jarrell, of Edwight, Jake and Wood Jarrell, of Whitesville;
a brother, I.N. Dickens, of Beckley; a sister, Mrs. Joe Massey, of Edwight; and 75 grandchildren.
