Catherine R. "Kate" Vogt, 72, resident of 5221 Plymouth Springmill Rd., Shelby died Saturday, December 19, 1998 at her home following a brief illness. Born March 8, 1926 in Mansfield, OH to Frank & Rafina (DiAchille) Augustine she had been a Shelby resident the majority of her life. A 1944 graduate of St. Peter's High School, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Vogt was a member of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar & Rosary Society, and the K of C Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene "Gene" Vogt, whom she wed Feb. 23, 1952; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Frank Vogt and Greg & Sharon Vogt all of Shelby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debby & Allen Ehlers of Dublin; and Kathy & Robb Scherer of Shelby; seven grandchildren, Kristen & Derek Ehlers, Michael, Kevin & Jennifer Scherer, Eric & Cory Vogt; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles & Wanda Augustine; Dominic & Helen Augustine and James & Edith Augustine all of Mansfield; five sisters and 3 brothers-in-law, Jenny & Russell Krichbaum; Ann & John Thomas; Florence Forwith; and Rose Augustine; all of Mansfield; Pauline & Don Williams of Lexington; nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Augustine and one sister, Mary Colarosa.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father John C. Missler, her pastor, will officiate with interment in Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home, in Shelby, Monday from 5-8PM where the rosary will be recited at 8:00PM.
