Helen "Marie" Jones, 95, of Lafayette, Indiana, died in the St. Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 10:04 a.m. She was a resident of Rosewalk Commons Assisted Living for a month before her death.

Marie was born July 28, 1917 in Lafayette, the daughter of the late Otis C. Anderson and Lillian M. Zink Anderson. She lived her entire life in Lafayette. She spoke frequently about living in a tent for a short period of time during the Great Depression in Murdock Park. Marie married Harold C. Jones on June 29, 1934 in Lafayette. They lived in the north end of Lafayette in the same house for 57 years. They enjoyed going to their cottage on Horseshoe Bend during the summers. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1991. Harold and Marie joined the Grace United Methodist Church in the mid 1950's.

She attended and graduated from St. Lawrence Catholic School.

Marie will always be remembered for the love for her family and the oodles and oodles of noodles she made throughout the years for the Anderson family reunions. The reunions will never be the same without her and her great contribution.

Jones, wife Lynn, of West Lafayette; and one daughter, Barbara Ferguson, of Brookston, Indiana; a granddaughter who was raised in her home, Kelli A.
