James Maddox, who would have reached his seventieth birthday in February, died Monday at his home, north of the tile mill, where for six years he had lived and operated a small truck farm. His death followed an illness of several weeks with a complication of diseases. He is survived by the widow and five children, Mrs. Clara Range and Mrs. Millie James, of Alexandria; Sherman Maddox, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Amanda Nelson, of Summitville. HE was one of a family of fifteen children of which six brothers and three sisters survive. Samuel Maddox, Mrs. A.P. Jones and Mrs. Martha Mount, three of them, are residents of Anderson. Mr. Maddox was a native of Kentucky, but spent most of his adult life in Indiana, living in Alexandria and Anderson before coming here. The funeral was held in the Christian church at Alexandria this afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial took place in Park View Cemetery there. Rev. Dewey Hole, of Munice, had charge of the services.
