Marinda married Robert Applegate (1836?-1868) on April 12, 1855 in Harrison County, Indiana. They had five identified children. They were also first cousins with both mothers being McMonigle sisters.
Research has shown the birth year of "1826" shown on her grave marker is very inaccurate. Based on available records, school enumerations, marriage year, and other logical estimations, the most accurate estimated birth year is "1838." The grave marker was apparently placed several years after her death. The marker is shared with her husband and his birth year is also very inaccurate based on various public and private records for Marinda and her family.
