Alvey Sheridan Shorb, 68, Rocky Ridge R. 1., Md., died Wednesday afternoon at 3:40 o'clock. He had been ill for about four weeks.
A native of Carroll County, Md., he was the son of the late Josua** and Elizabeth Troxell Shorb.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie J. (Rose) Shorb and four children: Robert F., Whittier, Calif.; Clarence J., Baltimore; Catherine, New York City, and Doris Gelwicks, Baltimore. Fifteen grandchildren and these brothers also survive; Gerald, Thurmont, and Maurice, Fairfield R. 2.
Funeral services Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Allison Funeral Home, Emmitsburg, with Rev. Samuel A. Moyer, pastor of the Reformed Church of Thurmont, and Rocky Ridge, officiating. Burial in new St. Joseph's Cemetery, Emmitsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 7 p.m.
