J.F. Shorb, 77 Dies Suddenly
Joshua Franklin Shorb, 77, Liberty township, died suddenly at the Warner hospital from coronary thrombosis Tuesday afternoon at 4:50 o'clock about one-half hour after his amittance. Death came while he was conversing with hospital attendants. He had suffered with a heart condition for several years.
He was a son of the late James and Mary (Duttera) Shorb and was born in Keysville, Maryland. For 50 years he engaged in farming, retiring 10 years ago. Before moving to Liberty township 20 years ago he farmed in Carroll county, Maryland. The deceased was a member of the Taneytown Evangelical Reformed church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Troxell Shorb; three sons, Alvey, Taneytown; Gerald B., Thurmont; Maurice F., New Oxford; a number of grandchildren; one brother, Joseph, Detour, Maryland, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Uhler, Baltimore.
Funeral services Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the S.L. Allison funeral home, Emmitsburg, conducted by his pastor, The Rev. C. E. Brady, Taneytown. Interment in Mountain View cemetery, Emmitsburg.
I'm afraid I know almost nothing about him. He attended church regularly, he enjoyed having company, he was a farmer and he and his wife reared three very nice sons.
