Gladys Adams, 95 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Dyersburg Manor in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Tuesday, February 27, 1917 in Newbern, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Gibson and the late Mattie Gibson.
She was the retired owner of Gladys' Dress Shop,retired owner of Adams Dairy Farm and was a former employee of Morris Manufacturing. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Newbern First Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee with the Rev. Steve Mills officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 Noon until 1:15 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She is survived by one nephew, Johnny Gibson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Joe Adams of Tiptonville, Tennessee and his children Kyle Adams of Meridian, Mississippi and Belynda Adams of Birmingham, Alabama and one great nephew and four great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie H. Adams.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Adams, John Reed Gibson, Jeremiah
Hollingsworth, Harry Smith, Ryan Hicks and Alton Winchester.
The family ask that memorials be made to the charity of donor's choice.
