Husband of Charlotte C. Carey Langbehn Burnette
Son of James Newton & Dora May Harvey Burnett

Leaving Tennessee at appx. 13 years of age, David along with his parents & siblings headed West settling in Kansas. David & his wife Charlotte made a trip from California to Sharps Chapel, Union County, TN. in search of family. Not knowing anyone in the area they stopped at the old post office inquiring if any Burnett's still lived in Sharps Chapel. The Postmaster just happened to be Rondie Brewer whose mother, Relda Leona Beeler Brewer, was a daughter of Matilda Jane (Tilda) Burnett Beeler. Matilda was a sister to David's father. David had just found a long lost cousin. Rondie sent them to his sister Virgie Brewer Perry's home since she was the family genealogist. Virgie talked David out of a photo of him and his wife which David did not want to give up. Cousin Virgie later gave the photo to don sanford
