Betty Wilhelm, 83, of Nazareth passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Tulia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Keller as celebrant. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth. Rosary will be recited on Monday evening at the church at 7 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Betty was born April 13, 1929, in Nazareth to Henry and Dora Hoelting Ramaekers. She graduated from Nazareth High School. She married Francis Wilhelm on May 31, 1948, in Nazareth. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, Catholic Daughters, she was past president of the 18th District American Legion Auxiliary, she was chairman for the American Legion Boys and Girls State 18th District for many years and she was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth. She loved to cook, crochet and was very well known for her sauerkraut. She was very proud of her 13 children and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by so many people and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by eight sons; Douglas Wilhelm of Littleton, Colo., Kevin Wilhelm of Las Cruces, N.M., Gordon Wilhelm of College Station, Rocky and Hugh Wilhelm, both of Nazareth, Neal Wilhelm of Wichita Falls, Eric Wilhelm of Amarillo and Craig Wilhelm of Plainview; five daughters, Barbara Reed of Pearland, Michele Schmucker of Bryan, Kimberly Huseman of Amarillo, Becky Bollinger of Frisco and Gaylene Wilhelm of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Elmer and Art Albracht, both of Houston, and Ralph Albracht of Nazareth; three sisters, Elaine Sullivan of Dallas, Dottie Doherty of Chicago, Ill., and Jean Kennevan of Cincinnati, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Wilhelm; her birth father, Henry Ramaekers; her mother, Dora Ramaekers Albracht and her father Florence Albracht; two brothers, Ed and Vincent Ramaekers; a son-in-law, Raymond Huseman; and a grandson, Don Hooper.
