Hubert "Bert" Lane, age 82, of Tipton passed away March 23, 2012, at home.
He was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Liberty, Ky., the son of Luther and Jessie Johnson.
On Nov. 6, 1954, he married, Mabel Schram. She preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2010.
Bert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his children, G. (I.) Lane, J. Lane, D. (K.) Lane, Deborah (Clifford), Judy (James) and Nancy (Harold); 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Sam, John, Dorothy, Jim, Evelyn, Shirley, Dan and Chuck.
In addition to his wife, Mabel Lane, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Francis and Elizabeth, and two brothers, Ernie and Lyle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian.
Burial will follow in Tipton Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian,
