Funeral Mass for Lena Aman, 82 years old, of Dickinson, is Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 10:00 am in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richardton with Father Brian Wangler, OSB, celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Richardton.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 9, 2003 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. in the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour before the funeral mass at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Richardton.

Lena passed away Friday, June 6, 2003, at St. Benedict's Health Center.
She was born on June 13, 1920 the daughter of Philip and Margaret (Boehm) Stoltz at the family homestead south of Gladstone, ND. She grew up and attended country schools in the Gladstone area. After her schooling, Lena continued to help her parents as well as baby sit for the area neighbors. In 1941 she went to work for the Gress family as a farmhand and many other duties. Lena was married to Paul B. Aman in Gladstone on June 26, 1944. They settled in Richardton where they began raising their family. Along with her family they took in boarders who were attending the Abbey. Lena and Paul enjoyed many evenings of hosting card parties as well as going to other homes. Every Saturday night was spent dancing with family and friends. Lena moved to Dickinson in 1990 where she has made her home since. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, bingo, listening to old time music, gardening and visiting and helping friends at the nursing homes. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary, Eagle's Auxiliary, German Hungarian Club and the R.S.V.P. Lena loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include, three sons, George (Linda) Aman, Stafford, VA, Pete Aman, Hiawatha, KS and Marvin (Zandy) Aman, Colorado Springs, CO; three daughters, Lyla (Ron) Smith, Dickinson, Polly (Richard J.) Schmidt, Gladstone and Patti (Roy) Steffan of Lawrence, KS; Seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, John (Loretta) Stoltz, Dickinson and Victor (Irene) Stoltz, CA; and a sister-in-law, Rose Stoltz, Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul; three brothers, Fred, George and an infant Sebastian; a sister, Anna Hellman and a grandchild, Joshua Aman.
