His many friends were pained to learn of the death of Jacob Paulus, which occurred at his farm home, about a half mile south of the city, at six o’clock Saturday morning. Mr. Paulus had been suffering from Bright’s disease for the past two years, and for the last ten weeks his condition had been especially serious. He was 68 years of age and for eleven years had been a resident of this city. He is survived by his bereaved widow, his aged mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Paulus, of Kearney, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Larmer, also of Kearney, all of whom were at his bed when the end came. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the home, Rev. A. A. Smith, of the Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will take place in the Grand Island cemetery.
